“You know what song I heard this morning? ‘Vogue.’ Why’d I wake up to that? I mean, I always hated that song. In fact, I don’t know a single Madonna song I do like. You know that. She was one of your favorites.”

Bobbie’s headstone didn’t respond.

“You were crazy about that song when we were in college, remember? I kept telling you it was stupid, but you’d make me go out on the dance floor with you. I could never say no to you. You’d do that silly dance with your hands.” I shook my head, thinking about some of the dances we attended while in school. Bobbie was a great dancer. I looked like Frankenstein trying to keep the beat.

No snow was falling, but it was frigid. I wrapped my long coat around me, but it did little to keep the chill off. It didn’t matter. I was feeling a little happier, thinking about dancing with Bobbie.
